Ballet Workshop with Live Accompaniment

 

We are pleased to present a series of workshops in Classical Ballet taught by Jon Sherman, with live accompaniment by pianist Hans Boman.  The workshops will take place once monthly on a Sunday afternoon, and are open to ballet students at an intermediate level and above.  Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

The Instructor
Jon Sherman trained at the Philadelphia Dance Academy, Pennsylvania Ballet, and American Ballet Theater. He graduated from Temple University with a B.S. in Secondary Education. After years of intensive training, he performed with Pennsylvania Ballet, Opera Company of Philadelphia, and Danceteller. He has taught professionally at the school of the Pennsylvania Ballet, University of the Arts, Temple University and Swarthmore College. Presently he is on the faculty of Swarthmore College, where he has taught for 23 years.

The Pianist
Hans Boman is a graduate of University of Arts with a Bachelors of Music in piano.  He has accompanied for many venues, including the University of the Arts, Pennsylvania Ballet School, the Rock School, Temple University, Jenkintown Music School, University City Arts League, Settlement Music School, Bryn Mawr College as well as in the New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania regions.  Currently he is at Swarthmore College, where he plays for ballet and modern dance classes.
